We provide a subscription-based online portal and mobile application (iOS/Android) for gold prospectors in Australia to access geoscientific data layers, offline navigation, and other mapping features. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and process your information. By accessing or using Detector Maps, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

To display maps, layers, and other geoscientific data. To sync waypoints and routes across devices via your Detector Maps account. To enable offline functionality (e.g., pre-downloading map tiles and data).

Your waypoints and related data are securely stored in the cloud, ensuring accessibility and recovery. We recommend that users periodically export their data (.KML or .CSV) for backup purposes.

Users can log into their Detector Maps account to view or update personal data. Permanent deletion of user data can be requested via [email protected].

8. Accuracy Disclaimer
Detector Maps does not verify user-uploaded waypoints or data. Use at your own risk.
9. Data Retention
Data is retained as long as the account is active or until a deletion request is submitted. If an account remains inactive after subscription expiry, we may delete user data after 12 months. Users will receive prior notification before deletion.
10. Legal Compliance (Australia Only)
Detector Maps adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) to protect personal data.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. Users will be notified of material updates via email, app notifications, or our website. Continued use of Detector Maps constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
